Jimmy Garoppolo: To Trade Or Not To Trade?

With the 2021 NFL draft coming up in less than 24 hours, rumors have been circulating around QB, Jimmy Garoppolo. The San Francisco 49ers are expected to draft a QB with their 3rd overall pick, which they acquired from the Miami Dolphins, in exchange for the No. 12 pick, a 2022 third-round pick, and first-round pick in 2022 and 2023.

What does this mean for Garoppolo? Well, the rumors about Jimmy Garoppolo say he will not be on the roster for next season. The rumors became more apparent with HC Kyle Shanahan’s statement during the press conference held on Monday. Where, when asked if Jimmy Garoppolo will be on the roster on Sunday, Shanahan responded with, “I can’t guarantee you that anybody in the world will be alive Sunday,” which may give a small hint of Garoppolo not returning to the 49ers.

Wednesday evening, New England radio host Dale Arnold tweeted out that he was hearing from a ‘reliable source’ that the New England Patriots are working on a new contract for Jimmy Garoppolo, which could lead to a deal with the 49ers..

However, a reporter for The Athletic Boston said otherwise. Jeff Howe tweeted out that there is nothing happening between the Patriots and Jimmy Garoppolo, currently.

There may be more news after the 2021 NFL draft is over. We will just have to wait and see who the 49ers will draft and if Jimmy Garoppolo will ever be traded back to the New England Patriots.
