Injuries and OTA cancelations update

Injuries

Justin Skule a sixth-round pick out of Vanderbilt in 2019, has been a competitor with his constant versatility across each spot on the offensive line. With Skule out for the 2021 campaign, we’re likely to see Shon Coleman compete for the swing tackle/interior guard role this season. Another likely candidate for this role is the rookie Jaylon Moore who also possesses the versatility that Skule had to offer.

Tarvarius Moore ruptured his Achilles during Monday’s practice and will be out for the season. Disappointing to say because he would’ve been competing for a starting role this season, his injury is what prompted the signing of Tony Jefferson. A likely favorite to win the starting role across from Jimmie Ward would be Jaquiski Tartt who recently resigned on a one-year deal.

OTAs Cancelation

Due to injuries, the 49ers have canceled OTA’s to minimize the possibility of more injuries plaguing the team. The 49ers will return to the practice field on July 31st leaving only the 49er’s minicamp before the 2021 season. The key to the 49er’s success this season will be depth just like the 2019 season, by having key rotational players who are able to step in and not miss a step is what helped kept our team such a powerhouse.
